Kanpur — The ongoing Kanpur Book Fair at GIC Chunni Ganj turned into a vibrant platform for women’s empowerment as the Muskuraye Kanpur initiative and the Kalyani Mahila Sashaktikaran Group organised an engaging Women’s Panel Talk. The session, inaugurated by Retired Colonel Zahid Siddiqui and CSJM University’s Dr. Siddhanshu Rai, aimed at giving Kanpur a fresh perspective on women-led change in society.
Kalyani Group Coordinator Deepika Srivastava highlighted that women today are moving shoulder to shoulder with men and have created remarkable success stories across diverse fields. Muskuraye Kanpur founder Dr. Sudhanshu Rai said the social sector is vast and full of opportunities where women can shape progress through contributions in education, health, innovation and entrepreneurship. With confidence and determination, he added, women can script transformational histories.
Colonel Zahid Siddiqui urged women to think big and recognize the power they inherently possess, stressing the importance of being aware of their rights.
Dr. Mridula Shukla encouraged women to step out into society while balancing family responsibilities.
Dr. Anuradha Singh pointed out that women’s emotional strength can benefit society, recommending focused attention on healthcare.
Senior Medical Officer Dr. Pankaja Pandey advised developing a socially conscious mindset.
Dr. Arpana Katiyar emphasised that happiness should be the ultimate goal and urged women to keep smiling through challenges.
Dr. Warshi Singh advocated resilience, reminding participants that obstacles are inevitable but overcoming them is essential.
Priti Ranjan stressed the need for strong self-belief as a foundation for genuine success.
Dr. Sonam Gupta spoke about the immense potential of Ayurveda and highlighted the indispensability of family support in the journey to success.

Responding to Dr. Sudhanshu Rai’s question on what Kanpur’s women can contribute to the social sphere, Dr. Arpana Katiyar said women must reduce dependence on social media and focus on genuine interpersonal connections, with education being the most crucial driver of change.
